Our Production Operators work at the front line, working rotational shifts throughout the year to produce exceptional MDF. They work in teams and learn their specialized skills on the job, acquiring a deep knowledge of plant, machinery and process. The Production Team Leaders are amongst the most critical personnel on site, taking on the responsibility for multiple personnel as well as vast operational knowledge. To become a production operator at Daiken, you will need to have a mechanical and process aptitude, be prepared to work shift, have some written and computer literacy, be a strong team player and hardworking, responsible attitude.
Mechanical and Electrical Roles
Daiken has a proud team of fitters and sparkies who bring their exceptional specializations to play in a myriad of industrial settings. Fitters and electricians must be trade qualified and registered as appropriate, and in return, Daiken offers them the opportunity to apply and grow their skills amongst serious machines, plant, tools and circuitry. Work of this type is not for the feint-hearted, and we only consider applicants who are safety ambassadors and can demonstrate highly developed investigative skills.
Engineering and Quality
If you’re technically minded, passionate about quality or serious about finding solutions, there’s plenty for you to do at Daiken. Our engineers and our technician’s team together to consistently challenge the leading edge of fibreboard production. From designing and commissioning to testing and analyzing, the brains of our operation live in an exciting forefront, building our reputation as an exceptional manufacturer in harmony with the environment. To work with these teams, you’ll need an engineering qualification, a knowledge of international production and operational standards and be a zealot for continuous improvement.
IT and Automation
At Daiken, our IT and Automation professionals like to be where the action is. There’s no hiding behind a computer for our specialists here, they are constantly hard at work where it counts, keeping the PLCs and machines ticking smoothly, finding solutions where there are no solutions, blue-sky thinking and implementing technology found nowhere else in the south island. The Pit Crews
It might be behind the scenes, but operations like Daiken don’t run themselves. Our finance, admin, sales, HR and safety personnel are the pit crews who quietly coordinate the organizational systems that keep the business in business. Constantly setting fresh challenges and targets for achievement, the Support Teams need their unique expertise and business knowledge to keep the ship right-sized. We only hire people for these teams who understand and can apply their professional talents to the unique nature of manufacturing, and who are committed to measurable results.
